BASIC FUNCTION

The Director of Corporate Strategy will work closely with the executive management team helping to craft overall strategies and conceptualize the direction of the organization’s current and future business portfolio. This process will include analyzing information and drawing conclusions, as well as positioning those conclusions to support the organization’s global strategic direction. This endeavor will significantly impact the company’s business plan, and brand development and positioning, and new business creation. Integration of company initiatives, competitive strategies and business planning is key.

The Director of Corporate Strategy will support global strategy creation and business development through thought leadership, project management, analysis, and presentation of findings with respect to high visibility, complex strategy issues. He/she will assess and manage acquisition efforts as needed. Additionally, he/she will identify current and future trends, technologies, competitors and customer needs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Strategy, the Director of Corporate Strategy will help to increase the company’s overall corporate growth rate, drive corporate business planning, and build an organization that will maximize profit while optimizing all facets of the operation.

Specifically, he/she will:

• Aggressively develop action plans that identify new and nontraditional markets in order to achieve business growth, competitive advantage and profitability.

• Establish initiatives that achieve customer satisfaction across a diverse domestic and internal customer base and an external customer market.

• Act as a catalyst/facilitator for individual businesses by evaluating/revising business plans, pro forma economics, and other complex or sensitive issues.

• Maintain and evaluate information on macro market trends that affect overall corporate strategy and direction.

• Lead specific projects and deliver recommendations. These projects are generally on behalf of the CEO or a senior executive and will involve multiple divisions; new market or business areas; or corporate strategy issues.

• Plan, conduct, and lead advanced analyses involving multiple functions and unique situations of unusual complexity. He/she will understand and thoroughly evaluate the full range of risks, seek appropriate risk/return trade-offs, and create break-through solutions. This person will recommend and manage schedules and performance standards while working to gain alignment from stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have 4-6 years of business and financial analysis experience post MBA. He/she will possess demonstrated experience in analyzing and solving complex business problems. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively within the team and across functions to influence business decisions.

Superior negotiation and presentation skills are essential as is the demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams. Mergers and acquisitions experience is desirable. It would be highly beneficial for the Director of Corporate Strategy to have experience with a leading management consulting firm.
